Paper Piecing & Sent With Love

Hi everyone,

Today I have a scrap page that has a bit of paper pieceing on it.  Plus I have used the brand new Sent With Love DSP available from April 1.Paper piecing is the art of layering papers on an image.

If you have a look at the hot air ballons you will see that there are plain colour panels and patterned panels. To achieve this look I stamped the image onto a white card stock to get the solid coloured panels, and stamped it again onto a patterned paper. Then I have cut out the panels that you see on the balloon that are patterned and stuck them onto the original stamped image.
This is a really fun technique and can give you so many different looks for the one image. Give it a try and see for yourself how much fun it is.
I love the new Sent With Love DSP. As you can see it is so versatile that the subject matter doesn't need to be travel oriented at all. I just love the colour combinations in this paper. It is released tomorrow - April 1, for a limited time only so make sure you don't miss out.

Now I wanted to tell you a little about the subject matter of this layout. This is my son who has started high school this year. He has Aspergers, ADHD and Tourettes. This poor kid has suffered so much through his primary school years because of his conditions, so we were very pleased and hopeful when we managed to secure a place for him in a specialist Autism unit for high school. We thought in the past that he was receiving help but now we know it was sadly lacking. It is only now that he is getting all the help he could possibly want that we are seeing the true potential of what he can achieve. He has been at high school for only 8 weeks and so far has received 5 Merit Certificates and gradings on tests of A's and B's. We always knew he had it in him, he just needed the right environment and assistance to get it out of him. We are so very proud of him and know now that he will be able to reach his full potential - hence the title of this page "The sky is the limit". We know now that he can do whatever it is that he sets his mind to. And we love him very very much.
