Bokeh - simply stunning !!!

Today I have a card to share with you that features a new technique called Bokeh.

This is trully a beautiful technique which gives a stunning effect.
You have probably seen the effect but didn't know the name of it. Here are some examples of Bokeh.

It is the effect of blurring the lights in the distance or background so that they appear like orbs.

And here is a card I made using this effect.

I can't share with you how to do this tecnhique as it was a Virtual Club technique. So only the ladies in my club have the instructions. But I am sure you could find something somewhere. If you want to be given instructions for techniques like this and more and don't want to have to go looking, then why not joing my Virtual Club.
If you want to make this card,  I used the following things.

It's all about DAD

Father's Day here in Australia is only a couple of weeks away.  So I have a few really quick and easy cards to show you.

With the first card I used the Little Letters Thinlits to cut out the word DAD in the top layer of the card. I then placed window sheet behind them and patterned paper on the next level where the letters would sit. Then popped up the top layer with dimensionals so it gives a raised effect. Such  a cool and easy effect.
For the bottom card I just popped a strip behind DAD. I stamped one of the strips from Tape It and then cut it out. I knew if I just stamped the Tape It strip onto the card front it would get lost in the Gorgeous Grunge I had alredy stamped.
Two really easy and simple cards to make that Dad will love.
If you want to recreate these cards, here is what I used.

Boutique Borders Fun

Have you used the Photopolymer stamps by Stampin' Up! yet ??

I have just had a play with the Boutique Borders photopolymer stamp set.

They are so cool.

Not only can you see exactly where you are stamping, but they stick to the blocks really snuggly and clean up is a breeze.

This is what I came up with.

This card was so easy and quick to make. I just chose one of the borders and stamped several times in different colours. Added my sentiment and stars...done !!
I think this card would be a great kids birthday card. But you could change up the colours and sentiment and make it work for any occasion really. You are only restricted by your own imagination.
So while I was playing with these stamps, I remembered that I had seen somewhere that they can be shaped. So I grabbed another of the borders and did this.
This was another fun and quick card. See what I did with the border ?!  I curved it on the acrylic block to make it look like a banner. Cool effect huh ?  And because I could see where the first banner was, lining up the other little bit was easy peasy.
I used  these supplies to make these cards.

You can get any of these things above by clicking on the item. It will take you directly to my store. Or can you browse for my items by selecting the graphic below.
Thanks for popping by today. I hope you get a chance to play with the photopolymer stamps soon. There are quite a few coming out in the Holiday Catalogue starting August 28. If you  don't already have a catalogue and would like one, please just drop me a note. My contact details are in the header of my blog.
Have a great day,
