Spring has Sprung

It has been a beautiful last couple of days here in Sydney. The sun was shining and we had some perfect spring days.

Notice I said that in past tense. Well thats because today is grey and miserable. More of a reason to show you some pretty things.

This beautiful weather we had inspired me to create some bright and sunny cards.

Here is the first one I created.

Narelle Fasulo - Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator

I hope this cards says Spring to you too.

I love how this card turned out, and whats even better is when an idea swirling around your head actually works !!

This card may look simple, but boy all that fussy cutting took a while. Plus I broke one of my rules of putting certain colours together. I would never normally put orange and pink together, I think this was ingrained in me growing up. I remember my Mum and Nanna always telling me "you can't wear that with  that because you can't wear pink and orange/blue and green together"....lol Sorry Mum and Nanna, forgive me for not following your advice....  :)

Have you ever looked at a card and said "wow that's nice" but when you try and recreate it, it just doesn't look the same. Thats probably because there is lots of detail on the original card that isn't obvious but adds to the overall appeal. Like for example the border of faux stitching holes around the tag on this card, or the border of marker faux stitching on the sentiment banner. Sometimes it can take quite a few times of looking at an item to take in all the detail.

One of my favourite things on this card has to be the flowers. I  just love  the shading. And it is so easy to achieve. By using one simple tool, the Stamp-a-ma-jig, you can get perfect placement every time.  "The Stamp a whatty what??  " I hear you say....lol. Never heard of ? Never used it? Then why not come along to my Tools & Techniques class on October 10 and learn all about it and create some cool things to take home as well. Check out more details on this class and all my classes by clicking on the Events icon below.

If you want to know what I used to create this card, here it is.

Thanks for dropping by my blog today.
Have a great day.
