Clean and Simple

You know not all the cards you make have to be multi-layered or complicated. Sometimes the simplest one dimensional cards pack the biggest punch. There is something about a simple card that is fresh and clean.

So today I thought I would show you a couple of cards I made that are just that - one dimensional, clean and simple. I used the Happy Congratulations stamp set as this stamp set is great for doing simple cards that you can just change the colour with and it gives you a different feel.

I added some Dazzling Details to a few of the lanterns, but it didn't show up that great...oh well...guess next time I should wait for the rain to stop and the sun to come out before I take the photos...lol

Look Up to Father

Sometimes you will see something that you just have to have. Well when I opened the new Occasions Catalogue there were two stamps that immediately spoke to me, saying "pick me,pick me". And they go so well together. Love that. The two stamps are Look Up To Father and Hardwood. They make masculine cards a breeze.

I love the picture window in this card. And so easy to do. Just use the magnetic platform to keep the framelit in place and you end up with a cool window.

Now if you have a look in the catalogue, you will see that the writing on the  Look Up To Father stamp is underneath the tree. Well for the first time ever I cut up a stamp. Oh shock horror !! Some people would never do that, but I also know people who do it all the time. I must say I hesitated quite a bit before I took my scissors to the stamp...lol. But now I can put the writing wherever  I want, and can still achieve the original look as well.

Valentines Day - a last minute thing.

Well Valentine's Day in this house now usually doesn't even rate a mention. I guess haveing kids will do that to you. It hasn't always been like that. Before we were married and even in the early years when the kids were little, we used to buy each other gifts. But as the years have gone by it has fallen by the wayside. Except for this year.

Simply Stamping with Narelle

This is the card that I gave my husband this year. Well sort of. You see this morning my 9 year old daughter made her dad a Valentines Day card before she went to school. She put it on the dining table this afternoon ready for when he came home. I felt really guilty so about 10 minutes before he was due home I decided to make a card too. But because I was quickly running out of time, I turned to My Digital Studio (MDS). I was just finising it off when he walked in the door, so I showed him my screen and said "Happy Valentines Day".....LOL. Oh I am so romantic....but still in my defense, that was more than he gave me...lol

I hope everyone has had a wonderful day and that your loved one has spoilt you rotten.

If you want to be armed with a quick solution to get you out of a sticky situation like I had, then download MDS today. The 30 day trial is FREE. You will thank me for it.

Thanks for poping over today.

Reducing your Wishlist

Today I did a very interesting exercise.

I wrote down all the stamps and bundles from all our current catalogues that are on my wishlist. I gave myself a limit that each stamp set/bundle could not exceed $72.95. Then I added up how many I had on my list. Wowsers - I have a huge wishlist. I ended up with 40 stamps and bundles on my list.

Then I got to thinking that maybe my customers also have large wishlists. I doubt you would have one as big a mine, because I just have to have it all...lol  Anyway, I then decided to see how many of these stamp sets I could get in my Starter Kit if I was a customer who joined Stampin' Up! during Sale-A-Bration.

Wow I was amazed !!! I could get 12 of my stamp sets/bundles in my Starter Kit. Amazing !!! That's a lot of stamps. Now that would surely make a dent in anyone's wishlist.

So how's your wishlist looking? Have you thought that it would take you forever to get whats on your list?

Well, now I have just shown you a way to reduce that wishlist, and possibly in some cases elminate it all together, well until the next time to flick through a catalogue anyway...lol

Did you know that the Starter Kit is totally flexible ? You get to choose what you want ! So if your wishlist has other things on it besides stamps, then you can add those too.

If you want to learn more about joining up, please contact me. Or if you are ready to reduce your wishlist at a discount and receive a discount on all further purchases, then click here to join my team.

Quick and Easy ThankYou's

You know making card doesn't have to be hard or take a long time. Would you believe that this card took me 5 minutes to make.

Simply Stamping With Narelle

Supplies used:-
Paper: Fresh Prints Designer Series Paper Stack , Note Cards
Accessories: Large Scallop Edgelits, Big Shot, Magnetic Platform, Petite Petals Punch, InColour Stampin Write Markers

I used a pre-scored Note Card, used a die to cut the scallop edge. Cut one piece of patterned paper and stuck it down. Stamped the greeting and two of the flowers straight onto the card front. Stamped another flower onto a scrap piece of card, punched it out then stuck it down. I think the longest part was doing the dots along the scallop. A really easy and very effective card.

Can you think of someone you can surprise today by sending them a ThankYou card ?

This one is for a customer of mine who has recently purchased some items. But you don't really need an excuse to send a ThankYou card. What about sending one to a friend just to say ThankYou for being my friend. Or give a ThankYou to the kids coach to say thanks for giving up their own time to teach the kids some skills. Once you start thinking about it, there are lots of people who deserve a regular ThankYou.

I would love to see you create some ThankYou cards. And what I would love more is if you email me a picture of the cards you create, who you sent them to and why? Then one lucky person will receive a  little surprise from me. Email me here - narelle@simplystampingwithnarelle.com

So get cracking and show me what lovely cards you can come up with to brighten someone's day.

Envelope Liner Framelits - for more than just envelopes

Today I have something a little different to share with you. I was looking at my Envelope Liner Framelits and kicking myself that I keep forgetting to use them. So I decided to have a play and see what else I could do with them. I came up with this. A cute little tag card and gift card holder.

Simply Stamping With Narelle

I used all 3 of the envelope liners in this project. The largest one formed the back of the pouch. Then the middle one formed the front. The edges of the largest one I scored and folded them over onto the front piece to secure it. Then I used the smallest of the liners to make the pull out pieces.

Now you can probably tell that these are longer than the actual framelit. To do this you slip the paper into the framelit so that the bottom of the paper sits on top of the die, as in the picture below.

As I wanted this to be a gift card holder, I created a couple of tags using the new Scalloped Tag Topper Punch and attached a cut out stamped coral from By The Tide using dimensionals, so the tag to write your greeting on and the gift card can easily be removed.

So as you can see the Envelope Liner Framelits are for more than just envelopes.

Fresh Prints

One of the new products in the recently released Occasions Catalogue that is fast becoming a favourite of mine, is the Fresh Prints Designer Series Paper Stack. A fantastic range of double sided papers precut to the perfect size for card fronts. Less wastage is always a good thing, and if you are anything like me and hate making that first cut into pretty paper, well these are perfect. You don't have to cut it at all if you don't want to!!! Love that idea. Today I have another card using these papers, just love them.

My tip for you is that when you need to make a lot of cards, come up with a design and just change the papers to make a variety. Once you are on a roll you will find they come together very quickly.
