Christmas is over right !

I know Christmas is over, but I still haven't shown you all the Christmas cards we did in class. So here we go.

These cards are actually what we did over two classes. I thought I would pop them in one post because from tomorow I want to start showing you all the lovely goodies that are in the upcoming Occasions Catalogue as well as all the lovely free stuff you can earn during Sale-A-Bration.

These cards are probably all cased from somewhere on Pinterest. I honestly can't remember now as some of these cards we did back in November. I did say a couple of posts ago that I was a bit slack at the  moment. Maybe I should make that a New Years resolution - blog more consistently.

Thank you for your support during this past year. I appreciate each and every one of you, and I hope I have inspired you to get crafty at least once this year. I hope you all have a safe and Happy New Year. See you in 2016.

Thanks for dropping by.
Cheers,
Narelle

More Christmas Inspiration

You can never have enough Christmas Inspiration, right? Problem is though, I have been slack and haven't really blogged about these early enough for you to use this Christmas. But feel free to pin them anyway as you can use them next year.

These were the cards I taught in class a few weeks ago. I took inspiration for these from other stampers, but now I can't remember who. So if you recognise your work that I have cased, please drop me a line and let me know.

Simply Stamping With Narelle

I am pretty sure this cute Santa down the chimney I cased from none other than Patty Bennett, Stampin' Up!'s latest 1 Million Dollar Achiever. Wow what an achievement.

Shaker Cards and Tags

Last month I held a fun class where we made Shaker cards and Christmas tags. I used the To You & Yours Shaker Card Kit and the Oh What Fun Tag Project Kit.  These kits make it really easy to get great looking cards and gift tags for your family and friends.

Water colour background

Today I wanted to share with you a quick tip on how to get an easy water colour effect for the background of your project. If you saw the pastel Christmas card I posted the other day, you would of noticed the water colour background. This is the technique I used to create that background.

Here is the card again, to refresh your memory.

This technique is so easy, and you only need a couple of things. You will need an acrylic block, some markers of your choice and a water spritzer. Thats it.

Then you simply just colour in the acrylic block. I coloured my one in so it had large stripes of my chosen colours. But you could colour it any design you like.

Once you have finished colouring, you then spritz the block with water. Then place face down on your project.

This is the result. It will be a little wet, so if you are in a hurry, just dry it with your heat gun.

As you can see this is a very simple but effective technique. I hope you give it a try one day.

Thanks for dropping by.

Have a great day.

A Pastel Christmas

Today I bring you a gorgeous pastel Christmas card. It is something so very different for me. I normally do traditional red, green and gold. But this month  the challenge over at Off The Rails is a pastel colour christmas theme, I had to make something to fit that challenge. I am so glad that I did, because I love the card I made.

First here is the mood board for Off The Rails. I would love for you to play along this month as there is an awesome prize from Charms Creations up for grabs.

I just loved playing with this palette. As soon as I saw the challenge, I had an idea for a card pop into my head. And amazingly, it stayed in my head for the next several months until it was time for the Design Team to create our inspiration for this challenge. And even more amazingly is that it turned out just like I pictured it in my head..lol

This card was so much fun to make. I loved the look of the white embossing on the trees and the pastel watercolour wash of the background. Then I added some Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper as stars on the trees and the Merry. This card sparkles so much in real life. I don't think my photo really does it justice.

These are some of the items that I used to make to this card.

Give Thanks

I know we don't celebrate Thanksgiving in Australia. But I still think that it is good to say Thankyou to people. There is always someone you can Thank and a million reasons to do so. Think about your immediate family. I know I can think of lots of reasons off the top of my head without really even giving it much thought - thank my husband for working hard and providing us a stable environment, thank my son for trying his best at school, and thank my daughter for stepping outside of her comfort zone and trying new things. Then there is the extended family, friends, co-workers, teachers, teachers aides, and the list goes on. So recently in class I challenged my ladies to thank someone and give away these cards we made.

I love the simplicity of these cards. I wanted the greeting to be the main focus. When I first saw the Acorny Thankyou stamp set, I wasn't sure if I would get it. But its' appeal grew on me. And the fact that you can save 15% by buying it with the matching punch, made it a much more appealing prospect. I am so glad that I got it as there are lots of thankyou cards that I will need to make in my future.

The gorgeous background papers I have used are from the Into The Woods Designer Series Paper Pack. I love the mix of floral and earthy prints in this pack.
