Now for something different

Today I thought I would share something different and show you all that Stampin' Up! is more than just cards.

Narelle Fasulo - Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator

I used 99% Stampin' Up! products on this scrap  page. The only things that are not Stampin' Up! is the texture paste I used to create the damask pattern using a stencil. And that is because I needed to include something damask to meet the challenge set by Scrapi Wyzwaniowo.

Here are some close ups.

I haven't done much scrapping of late. One day I was sitting at my desk and really felt like doing a page. So I did a quick browse of my Facebook feed and saw this amazing challenge come up. I love having lots of really talented facebook friends who are designers for some amazing sites. And that is how I came across this site. The work that is submitted by the design team is amazing. I know my talents are no where near as good as theirs. But sometimes you just have to have a go.

Did you notice the background paper I used ? It is from the Bohemian Designer Series. But I thought it was a bit bright for what I wanted the page to look like. So I decided to tone it down a bit by white washing it. This was a tip that I picked up from the lovely Bonnie Thurber at the Stampin' Up! Create Inspire Event I attended earlier this year. It is so easy to do. You just wipe over the paper with a white ink pad. Told you it was easy. I will do a video on how to do this soon. But I also wanted a pop of colour, so I also randomly sponged parts of the paper with Night of Navy ink.

To achieve the grunge look, I used a couple of stamp sets  - Gorgeous Grunge (of course) and Kinda Eclectic.  I also used some torn Night of Navy card stock which I inked around the edges using Memento. The wooden elements, which are now retired, were also given the white wash treatment and most were also wiped with a little Night of Navy.

I loved doing this scrap page. I really need to do more. Well actually I did, but that one I will show you in a few days.

I hope you like this layout. As always, if you need any supplies at all, please visit my online shop.
