Freshly Brewed Projects - Retiring Products

Welcome to another Freshly Brewed Projects from the Latte Girls. This week we are featuring Retiring Products.

As I have said before, there are a lot of retiring products that I love, so it was difficult to choose what to use. In the end I settled for By The Tide.

By The Tide - Simply Stamping with Narelle - available here -

This must be a popular stamp set as the clear mount has sold out, BUT the wood mount is still available and at a 20% discount. So why not grab it before it is gone forever.

I started by using the brayer, which is also retiring , to colour a piece of whisper white cards stock. I then stamped the coral onto another piece of whisper white which was the same size as the one I just brayered. Then I cut out three circles from that piece of card, then placed that piece of card onto the brayered piece and marked roughly where I needed to stamp the coral so that it lined  up. I wasn't necessarily going for a complete match, but I think I did OK when I stamped the coral onto the brayered piece of card, because they look pretty well aligned. Sometimes things just work even when you aren't trying that hard.

Then I stamped the fish, shell and seahorse onto another piece of whisper white, coloured them with aqua painter and ink, and cut them out.

To add a bit more depth to the top piece of whisper white, I flicked an aqua painter that was coloured with Lost Lagoon to get the splashes on the front. I then mounted it with some dimensionals onto the brayered card, and glued on the fish, shell and seahorse. I added some linen thread for added interest, then adhered the card front to the lost lagoon card.

I hope you like what I have made and it has inspired you to grab this stamp set before it is completely sold out.

Now to check out what the other Latte Girls have done:-

  1. love your card Narelle ... I do like that set - love seahorses :)

  2. Love this card. I love how the fish looks like it's leaping out of the water.
