Welcome to another Freshly Brewed Projects from the Latte Girls. This week we are talking Furry Friends. I am sure we can all relate to this one as most people have some sort of pet. We have a cat. She is a gorgeous Chocolate Point Ragdoll and is around 18 months old. It is my children's first pet, so she is one spoilt kitty.
But today I haven't done a cat for my furry friend. I have instead opted to honour my daughters natural ability to draw cartoon characters. She is always drawing and one of her favourite things to do, is to make up characters. The thought of doing this came to me last weekend when we were relaxing on the lounge and she was happily sitting next to me with sketchbook and pencil in hand. When I saw what she was drawing, the Playful Pals stamp set came to mind. So this is what I made.
Don't ask me whether this furry friend is a dog or cat because I honestly don't know. I was aiming for a cat but when I look at it, I see dog as well. I think I may have just created a new character for my daughter to include in her stories. Yes she also writes stories to go along with the characters she draws. This furry friend was so much fun to make. Just look at the elements I had to work with.
The possibilities are endless. There are so many different creatures you can create. And I am sure you can come up with more realistic looking ones than I can.
Because I wanted my furry friend to be the main attraction of the card, I choose a relatively plain back drop from the Pop Of Pink DSP.
The sentiment is from Endless Birthday Wishes.
Did you notice the scalloped square behind my furry friend. Isn't is awesome. It's just enough of a pop of colour. I did that with the new Layering Squares Framelits. These are so cool. There are 19 squares in the pack. Half plain and half scalloped, so the combinations are amazing. I can see these getting used a lot. Check them out for yourself.
Ok so that's enough from me. Now it is time to see what the other Latte Girls have done.
Thanks for dropping by.
Have a great day.
Cheers,
Narelle
