Birthday Blooms

Oh my, what a gorgeous stamp set. I bought this set in pre-order, which is when Demonstrators get to purchase the new catalogue items before the catalogue goes live. Now this is a good enough reason to join right? But I digress. We will come back to that later.

Today was the first time I actually inked it up. Why I waited so long, I have no idea. Oh yeah, actually I do. It's because I had lots of other new goodies to play with...lol...Anyway, I needed to create a birthday card for one of  my team, I just hope she doesn't see my blog post before her card arrives...lol... This set is simply beautiful. But that's enough jibber jabber from me, you want to see the card, right !

I stamped the bloom in our new Basic Black Archival Ink. Then watercoloured using Real Red which came out much lighter than I anticipated and looks really pink. But I like it. And I used Old Olive for the leaves, with a touch of Daffodil Delight in the centre of the bloom. The centiment is from the same stamp set. I added a few of the sparkly enamel dots that come in the Love Blossoms Embellishment Kit. These are to die for, so sparkly and very pretty.

The layout of the card is from a Mojo Monday sketch, number 432. I decided to play along this week. I always admire the sketches and what people create using them. So why not play along.

To see what products I used to create this card, just check out the Product List at the end of this post.

Sky is The Limit Birthday Card

My husband's birthday is next week and for the first time in a long time I have made his card before the night before his birthday. And I think that is because Stampin' Up! have made it so easy for me this year with some great male offerings in the new Occasions Catalogue and the Sale-A-Bration brochure.

When I first saw the Sky is the Limit stamp set in the Sale-A-Bration brochure, I knew it was going to be popular. I know I wanted it straight away and I have no one in my family who is a plane fanatic. But I think the appeal to it, is that it is different from what we have had before and it has a timeless appeal.

Narelle Fasulo - Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - Simply Stamping with Narelle - Sky is the Limit - Sale-A-Bration item FREE with a $90 order - http://www3.stampinup.com/ECWeb/default.aspx?dbwsdemoid=4008228

So for this card I used the Sky is the Limit stamp set which is a FREE Sale-A-Bration item that you can get when you spend $90. It is such a cool old fashioned plane stamp that comes with the cutest little clouds and four great greetings. It is definitely a set worth getting. I teamed it up with the Going Global stamp set and the World Traveller Embossing folder, both from the 2016 Occasions Catalogue.

I thought that the plane would be perfect for a card with movement. So I made a channel in the embossed layer using the Word Window punch. Then I used a big solid button behind the card stock and stuck the plane to the button using dimensionals. When the card is tilted the airoplane slides along the channel. It is so cute.

I even made a video for it. Rather than having me talk all the way through, I thought it would be fun to make a process video. A process video is basically where you watch someone make something at a faster rate than normal while listening to music. I probably explained that really badly, so just watch the video and you will get what I mean.

To see what supplies I used to make this card, check out the Product List at the end of this post.

Number of Years

When I saw the Number of Years bundle in the 2016 Occasions Catalogue, I was over the moon for several reasons. First of all it is just a gorgeous bundle that has infinite possibilities and appeal. Secondly, my parents celebrate their 60th Wedding Anniversary this year and my Mum suggested that it would be nice if I organise a function for them. So invitations with this bundle sprung to mind. And that's exactly what I did.

Narelle Fasulo -Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - Simply Stamping with Narelle - Number of Years

I hope my parents love this invitation. I know I do....lol. 60 years of marriage is an amazing achievement and one that definitely needs to be celebrated. I only hope that my marriage is as long lasting as theirs.

The design of this invitation isn't entirely my own. It was cased partly by an example  in the Occasions Catalogue and also the current #GDP020 card challenge over on the Global Design Project blog. This is a relatively new challenge blog that looks lots of fun. So I have decided to play along as much as I can. And yes I vaguely remember saying something similar this time of year last year. I think I was going to try and enter more challenges. Well that lasted maybe a whole two weeks. Lets hope this year I last a little longer.

If you want to recreate this project or use the same wonderful products I did, then see the list below. Remember that during Sale-A-Bration you earn FREE product for every $90 you spend.
