Sheltering Tree Shaker Card

It's time to revisit a stamp set from the Annual Catalogue. Sheltering Tree. I love this stamp set as it is very versatile. You can create great scenes with it, and stamp a card for every season.

Today I have used it in a sympathy card that is also a shaker card. I actually made it for another challenge. This time for the Global Design Project.

Sheltering Tree - Hearth and Home Thinlits - Simply Stamping with Narelle - order here - http://www3.stampinup.com/ECWeb/default.aspx?dbwsdemoid=4008228

The challenge this time over at Global Design Project was to case the designer. The inspiration was a gorgeous card created by Michelle Last. Here is her card.

Isn't her card just gorgeous. I love the colours in her card, just divine. I have chosen as inspiration from her card the layout and the fact that it is a shaker card.

Thanks for dropping by.
Have a great day.

Narelle

Lots of Cups for Mojo Monday

Today I thought I would share with you a card  that I have done for the current Mojo Monday challenge. I still can't believe that it is the end of February and I am still going strong with the challenges. Wonder how much longer I can go on...lol

Anyway here is the current sketch for Mojo Monday.

And here is my card.

A Nice Cuppa Stamp set - Cups & Kettle Framelits - Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper - Simply Stamping with Narelle - available here - http://www3.stampinup.com/ECWeb/default.aspx?dbwsdemoid=4008228

I am in love with the Cups & Kettle Framelits. The little tea cup is just beautiful. The shape of the handle is so cute and the little extra bits for the patterns on the cup are so sweet. It can be used by itself or tea'd up with the A Nice Cuppa stamp set. It is the perfect bundle to use for Mother's Day as I have done with this card. And of course when anything is in a bundle like this, you always get a discount.

I hope you like my card and get a chance yourself soon to get creative.
Thanks for dropping by.
Have a great day.
Cheers,
Narelle

Shabby Chic Parade

Yes some people may say I am obsessed with  Shabby Chic. I'm not allowed much at home in the way of home decor because my husband doesn't want to live in a "frilly" house...lol So when I saw all the shabby loveliness in the Occasions Catalogue, I was instantly in love.

So today I thought I would highlight some of the projects I have done recently using some of this shabby loveliness. You may have seen some of them already, but when you make it to the end, I can guarantee that you haven't seen the last two projects.

So first up in my Shabby Chic Parade, is a couple of cards.

Bloomin' Love - Simply Stamping with Narelle - order here - http://www3.stampinup.com/ECWeb/default.aspx?dbwsdemoid=4008228

Love Blossoms - Simply Stamping with Narelle -http://www3.stampinup.com/ECWeb/default.aspx?dbwsdemoid=4008228

Bloomin' Heart - Simply Stamping with Narelle - http://www3.stampinup.com/ECWeb/default.aspx?dbwsdemoid=4008228

Then there is the scrapbook page that I did. I LOVE this page if I do say so  myself..lol. I love how the sponging of the Whisper White card stock using the Hearts & Stars Decorative mask created the perfect background paper. And the punched and scrunched cardstock created the perfect flowers.

And lastly in my Shabby Chic Parade is a couple of Curvy Keepsake boxes. These are new as I only just thought of these in the shower last night..lol...Yep I come up with a lot of ideas in the shower. So when I thought of them last night I knew I had to try to make them straight away. What do you think of them ?

One of them I cut out the side of the Curvy Keepsake box using the heart die from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Die. Then I cut out a white Bloomin' Heart die. I glued it behind the heart cut out and trimmed it.

The second one was a lot more fiddly to do and half way through I wondered if perhaps the water from my shower had got into my brain...lol. For this one, I replaced one side of the curvy keepsake with the Bloomin' Love die. It took a lot of persuading of the card stock to get a nice shape. But I was determined to not let it beat me. I think it didn't  turn out too bad at all. I am sure with more work it could be perfected.

I put the battery operated candles in them, but you could put treats in them. I can see these being used as bombonieres for weddings, engagements, christenings and other such occasions.

I hope you have enjoyed my Shabby Chic Parade. To purchase any of the products I have used, just pop into my online store. It is open 24 hours. Feel free to pop me a note if you have any questions.

Thanks for dropping by. Have a great day.

Going Global

Today I realised I haven't shared with you the cards from a recent class where we used Going Global. Male cards are hard to make for some people, so when the Going Global stamp set was released, I knew life just got a little easier for some people.

Clean and Simple

Today I thought I would do something that I normally don't do. A clean and simple card.

I struggle with not adding lots of elements and layers, so thought The Paper Players Clean and Simple Challenge would push me out of my comfort zone.

I still look at the card and think it isn't finished. What do you think ?

Balloon Celebration and Bear Hugs - Simply Stamping with Narelle - order here - http://www3.stampinup.com/ECWeb/default.aspx?dbwsdemoid=4008228

It certainly is clean and simple. A little too simple in my eyes.  But it's done now...lol
