Christmas Greetings

Today I have another Christmas card using the gorgeous Father Christmas stamp set. But this time I wanted to highlight the beautiful sack of presents.

Father Christmas - Simply Stamping with Narelle - available here - http://www3.stampinup.com/ECWeb/ProductDetails.aspx?productID=142125&dbwsdemoid=4008228

The sack is gorgeous enough for it to take center stage on a card. It is choc full of wonderful toys for all the boys and girls.

The sentiment and scroll work was coloured using Stampin' Write Markers. It is the easiest way to make the same stamp multi coloured. I wanted to the Christmas Greetings to stand out. It was coloured Garden Green and the scroll work was done in Cherry Cobbler.

The toy sack was stamped with Basic Black Archival ink and coloured using Blender Pens and inks.

A few rhinestones were added to the scroll work, and the card was complete.

A quite simple yet effective card.

Thanks for dropping by.
Have a great day.
Cheers,
Narelle

Freshly Brewed Projects - Sweet Treats

Welcome to another Freshly Brewed Projects from the Latte Girls. This week it is all about Sweet Treats. Well the packaging of sweet treats really.

Isn't it fun to wrap something up special and enjoy the look on the face of the receiver. It is even better when there is a sweet treat inside.

I used our Clear Tiny Treat Boxes to make some cute little treats for my customers and team members this coming Christmas.

These are so easy to use. Just peel off the protective film. Assemble the box and then just decorate as you wish. I put a piece of Warmth & Cheer Designer Series Paper in the bottom then filled each with treats. Then made a cute tag using the Merriest Wishes bundle. The Real Red Stitched Edge Ribbon added the final touch with a bow.

Here are the Clear Tiny Treat Boxes. You get 16 in a pack and they measure 2" x 2". The perfect size for a little treat.

Father Christmas

Do you love vintage? Do you love Christmas?

If you answered Yes to both those questions, then you just have to get the Father Christmas stamp set. It is so gorgeous.

I had a class on Saturday using this set. This is just one of the cards the ladies did.

Father Christmas - Simply Stamping with Narelle - available here - http://www3.stampinup.com/ECWeb/ProductDetails.aspx?productID=142125&dbwsdemoid=4008228

Father Christmas - Simply Stamping with Narelle - available here - http://www3.stampinup.com/ECWeb/ProductDetails.aspx?productID=142125&dbwsdemoid=4008228

We coloured Father Christmas using Blender Pens as we wanted a richer colour than what Aqua Pens can give.

For some of the ladies it was their first time using Blender pens. Even the first time card maker managed to make a gorgeous card.

This is a center step card. They look hard to make but are really easy once you know how. I am sure the ladies from class will be showing me other wonderful center step cards they make.

If you haven't seen the Father Christmas stamp set, here it is.

Seasonal Bells

Today I have a lovely Christmas card to show you using the Seasonal Bells bundle. This stamp set is just gorgeous. It has a matching punch that makes it quick and easy to make cards. The bonus is that you can purchase the two together and save 10%. Gotta love that.

So here is the card I made.

If you haven't noticed the bundle in the Holiday Catalogue, here it is below.

Seasonal Bells -Simply Stamping with Narelle - Available here - http://www3.stampinup.com/ECWeb/ProductDetails.aspx?productID=143533&dbwsdemoid=4008228

I also used the Holly embossing folder on this card. I coloured it using one of the techniques I showed you a few days ago here. It is a beautful pattern in this folder, and is fast becoming one of my favourite embossing folders.

International Projects Hghlight

Welcome to our International Project Highlights using current Stampin' Up!® Products.
Be inspired by our gallery of beautiful projects!

We would love it if you could visit every one of our blogs and see a close up of our projects. The gallery below will be on every blog you visit, so you can't possibly get lost.

Here is what I made.

Bunch of Blossoms - Simply Stamping with Narelle - available here - http://www3.stampinup.com/ECWeb/ProductDetails.aspx?productID=141573&dbwsdemoid=4008228

The technique for this card I saw on another demonstrators, Vanessa Web, web site. It is something I would never have thought to do. Stamping directly onto the Irresistibly Floral Designer Series Paper. When ever I have used this paper in the past, I have just inked it using either sponges or a brayer. I had no idea you could stamp directly onto it.

It gives such a cool effect. The flowers on this card look like they are outside a lead light window. For some reason it reminds me of a english garden. I think the Bunch of Blossoms stamp set I have used, make for perfect flowers on this card.

Why not try this technique and see what you can come up with.

Thanks for visiting my blog today, there are so many amazing ideas and inspiration you don't want to miss. We know that you will love our gallery of projects made from Stampin' Up!® Demonstrators around the world!

Make your Own paper

You know how sometimes you can have what seems like a million pieces of patterned paper, but none of them seem to be what you need. At times like that, why not just make your own.

A few weeks ago I had a design for a card in mind, but out of all the paper I have, I just couldn't find what I wanted. Let me just put this on the record - I am a paper hoarder. Yep. I struggle to cut up the pretty papers, so believe me when I say that I have a lot of paper. But I had a specific design in mind and none of my papers were working. So I made my own.

Make Your Own Paper - Simply Stamping with Narelle - http://www3.stampinup.com/ECWeb/default.aspx?dbwsdemoid=4008228

See the white paper with the flowers on it, that is the paper that  I made. I couldn't find a paper in my stash that was clean, crisp and simple like this. This paper was so easy to do. Just stamp a few images repeatedly, and you have the perfect paper to suit your design.

Don't have time to make your own paper, or don't want to, then grab some of our Designer Series Paper while we have the Buy 3 get the 4th FREE offer on. Just click on the image below to see what papers are included.

Getting more from your embossing folders.

Have you ever thought of using your embossing folder to make faux letterpress look or use them as stamps?

Well, today I am going to show you a few cool things you can do with your folders.

First up, you can easily achieve a faux letterpress look by inking up your embossing folder. It is really easy to do. As you know, every folder has a side that will emboss and the other side will deboss. Emboss is the raised effect, deboss is the opposite, so that is the flattened bit. Inking up the side that will deboss will give you the faux letterpress effect. You obviously can't do the letterpress lettering unless the words on your embossing folder are back to front. But you can make a cool letterpress look with patterns.

Here I have inked up both sides of the embossing folder so I can show you the different looks.

Embossing Folders - Simply Stamping with Narelle - available here - http://www3.stampinup.com/ECWeb/ItemList.aspx?categoryid=31603&dbwsdemoid=4008228

Now you can ink up the folder a few different ways. Today I just used the ink pad straight to the folder, but you can use a brayer as well or a sponge.

Embossing Folders - Simply Stamping with Narelle - available here - http://www3.stampinup.com/ECWeb/ItemList.aspx?categoryid=31603&dbwsdemoid=4008228

Now here are the different looks from the two different sides of the folder.
The first one is the faux letterpress look. The ink has gone in between the raised sections of the folder. So in the deboss part of the pattern.

Embossing Folders - Simply Stamping with Narelle - available here - http://www3.stampinup.com/ECWeb/ItemList.aspx?categoryid=31603&dbwsdemoid=4008228

Embossing Folders - Simply Stamping with Narelle - available here - http://www3.stampinup.com/ECWeb/ItemList.aspx?categoryid=31603&dbwsdemoid=4008228

This is what the other side looks like. So the ink on this side is on the embossed or raised part of the pattern.

Embossing Folders - Simply Stamping with Narelle - available here - http://www3.stampinup.com/ECWeb/ItemList.aspx?categoryid=31603&dbwsdemoid=4008228

Another completely different look can be achieved if you use the embossing folder as a stamp.
You ink the folder up the same way, but this time you don't run it through your die cut machine. Instead you just use pressure with your hand or something like a brayer.
Oops maybe I should of painted my nails again before I did this tutorial.....

Embossing Folders - Simply Stamping with Narelle - available here - http://www3.stampinup.com/ECWeb/ItemList.aspx?categoryid=31603&dbwsdemoid=4008228

This is the effect you get on the embossed side.

Embossing Folders - Simply Stamping with Narelle - available here - http://www3.stampinup.com/ECWeb/ItemList.aspx?categoryid=31603&dbwsdemoid=4008228

And this is the debossed side.

Embossing Folders - Simply Stamping with Narelle - available here - http://www3.stampinup.com/ECWeb/ItemList.aspx?categoryid=31603&dbwsdemoid=4008228

So you can get some really cool effects just by using your embossing folders a little differently.

This is the card which inspired this tutorial. It is a card we did at my team leaders meeting last week.

Embossing Folders - Simply Stamping with Narelle - available here - http://www3.stampinup.com/ECWeb/ItemList.aspx?categoryid=31603&dbwsdemoid=4008228

So I hope you think about using your embossing folders more and using these cool techniques

Thanks for dropping by and have a great day.

Narelle
