Today I have a quick tip for you. And it's something about this card.
As you can see, I stamped the trellis pattern behind the rose. I did it the normal way, using a mask. But my Quick Tip is this.
You don't need to make a new mask. Stampin' Up! provides you with one automatically. Don't spend time stamping your image and then cutting around it. Just do this.
For every stamp, Stampin' Up! provide in the case, a sheet of image stickers. These are used to either stick to the back of the stamp for the clear mount stamps, or onto the wooden block for wood mount stamps.
The backs of these stickers make perfect masks.
All you need to do is cut as close to the image as you want while the sticker is still on the sheet.
Then you peel off the front protective sheet and stick the image to your stamp as normal.
You will be left with the stamp as normal with its sticker on it, and the backing paper in the shape of the stamp. Normally this would be thrown away. Then when you want to mask using the stamp, you would stamp the image onto paper and cut around it.
With this default mask you are left with, I just use a curl of retired washi tape and stick it to my project and stamp over it. I remove the washi tape and store the mask in the stamp case ready to be used again.
And there you have a perfectly masked image.
I hope you have enjoyed this Quick Tip.
