Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop

Welcome to another Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop. This time the theme is Wedding/Anniversary.
This theme is perfect as we are in the middle of Spring which is traditionally a busy season for weddings.

For this theme,  I chose to make an Anniversary card. Too many times in these technological days, it is too easy to let Anniversaries slip by with just a quick text or facebook message. I would love to see people go back to buying gifts and sending cards. And when they are as pretty as this, the recipients will surely love the effort and thoughts.

Now that you have seen my project, it is time to see every one else's amazing projects. Just follow along using the links below.

It really isn't that hard to do either. Well if I could work out how to do it, then you can too. Any one who knows me, knows I struggle with 3D type items. But I managed to come up with the idea, design and create it all in one evening.

The paper on the sides and top of the tray is from the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack. I stamped the floral design on it using Berry Burst ink.

I will do a quick tutorial on it and load it up late in the week.

My family are happy that I chose to do this project, as they now have lots of carrot cupcakes with cream cheese frosting to eat...hehe.

Here is the stamp set I used in case you haven't seen it before.

Halloween

Today I have something very special for you. A Halloween Blog Hop.

But not just any blog hop, but The Remarkable InkBig Blog HopI am so excited to be involved in this.

I know not many people celebrate Halloween in Australia, but it is on the increase, Anyway, it's a good excuse to but lots of lollies and then have to eat them yourself when you don't get many Trick or Treaters calling...hehe.

I thought about what I was going to make for this and realised that a card would probably be a bit silly. How many people would actually send a card for Halloween. It's more about the treats. So I decided to make a rectangle pizza treat box. I realise that this would be a bit much to do for every Trick or Treater, but would be great for a Halloween gift for a teacher or sports coach.

I have recently discovered the Eclipse Technique and am love with it. And as I don't have any Halloween stamps and paper, I thought it would make a great Halloween theme using the Lovely as A Tree stamp set and some shading.

Now that you have seen my project, make sure you follow along with the rest of the blog hoppers to see all the amazing projects they have created.

Remember that you are now visiting Narelle Fasulo, so if you get lost at all, just come back here and carry on with the list.

I just love these three cards. They have so much detail and lovely layers, but really not hard to put together. Plus they all feature my favourite colour ever, Berry Burst.  I think I am onto my third roll of that Berry Burst ribbon. Just love it, it is so soft and rich in colour.

These three cards were just some of the eight projects in August's Stamping By Mail class. Every month I offer several different classes that are mailed to your home. They are always lots of fun and jam packed with wonderful projects.

Registration for the current months classes is closing tomorrow, so make sure that you sign up today. Here are the three classes on offer.

I would love to have  you in class.

Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop

Welcome to the monthly Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop. The theme this month is Something Different. By different, we mean something other than your regular card.

Now this theme got me thinking...thinking...thinking...and drawing a blank. Well it really wasn't a blank, rather like too many ideas. I couldn't decide what I wanted to do. The possibilities were endless. So as I sat at my desk staring at my stamp sets, I saw my Seaside Shore stamp set and thought fish tank.

Fish Tank Card made using Seaside Shore Stamp Set - Simply Stamping with Narelle - get all the supplies you need to make this card here - https://www3.stampinup.com/ecweb/default.aspx?dbwsdemoid=4008228

So what do you think, does it look like a fish tank?
Yes it does have real water in it too.

Now that you have seen my card, it's time to see what every one else has done. If you want to know more about my project and how I made it, be sure to come back and keep reading.

I know the water could be higher, but this was a first attempt, so in time I am sure it could be perfected. But it still makes for a great shaker card and a squeezy card.

As I started making my project, I thought I was crazy for even attempting it. I even put up an Instagram post asking for everyone to wish me luck.

So here is how I made it.
First I started with a piece of Pool Party card stock which I sponged with Pool Party, Dapper Denim and Soft Suede.

I then stamped the fish tank scene and mounted the card onto a larger piece that was the size of the card front.

Now I need to make a frame which would form a pocket to hold the water element. So I chose a piece of patterned paper and marked out a panel on the back then cut it out.

Next I glued a piece of  Window Sheet to the back and used the Foam Adhesive Strips on three sides. I left the top open so I could slip the water component in.

This was then attached to the card front.

Next I need to make the water component. I was a tad nervous about this. I grabbed a plastic card bag and taped the sides in a little bit so that it would fit on the front. I just used Tear & Tape down both sides and folded the bag in a little.

Then I nervously added water....

Like I said before, I only put a little water in. I could of put a lot more.

I trimmed the top of the bag a little, added some Tear & Tape and glued the bag shut. I did use quite a bit of tape, and I am sure if this was ever mailed it would get very ugly. I guess this type of card would be best hand delivered to someone.

When I was confident that I wasn't going to have a massive water spill on my desk, I slipped the sealed bag down between the frame and the card front.

I then added some more Foam Adhesive strip across the top of the frame to make it more secure.

This would make a great shaker card and even a squeeze card. Just squeeze the front of the card gently and see the water level rise.

This was such a fun card to make. I hope you have been inspired to make something different.

Thanks for dropping by and have a great day.
Cheers,
Narelle
