Are you a traditionalist?

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a burning question for you.

Are you a traditionalist when it comes to Christmas? Does your Christmas have to be red and green. I must admit, I am a bit of a traditionalist. I keep admiring all the different and lovely colours in decorations each year, but I just can't come to move away from the red and green. Of course, my Christmas cards follow suite.

But I absolutely love this card that Jessie Holton has made in non traditional colours. I think she may just sway me away from the red and green with this gorgeous creation.

She has used the Dashing Deer bundle. This is one of my favourite sets in the catalogue.

This was another card I received from a swap I did. I will have lots more cards from other demonstrators to share over the coming weeks. There certainly are some very talented ladies out there. Just look at all those layers.

Labels To Love

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a card to share with you that I didn't make. And it gave me the most wonderful idea.

Todays card was made by another Australian demonstrator, Sharon King from Victoria. It was a card I received as part of a Holiday Catalogue Swap I participated in. I am so glad that I joined in, because I received some amazing cards that have given me so much inspiration. Here is Sharon's amazing card.

Looking for a great festive greetings stamp set for your stash, then look no further than the Labels To Love stamp set - http://bit.ly/LabelsToLove

I love the sparkle on this card from the glimmer paper and gold foiling on the patterned paper. Then I looked at the stamp set and was very confused. I hadn't noticed this stamp set in the Holiday Catalogue. I went and grabbed my copy and flicked through it several times but still couldn't find it. I thought I was going crazy or Sharon had made a mistake. I checked the online store and there it was, so yes it had to be a current stamp set. Finally I checked the Annual Catalogue, and what did I find....the most amazing stamp set that I had overlooked so many times.  Labels to Love.

WOW what a find. And so clever of Sharon to use this stamp set with some of the new items from the Holiday Catalogue.

On closer inspection of this stamp set, it is very versatile and can be used with any pattern paper and accessories. I think it's a brilliant stamp set to have in your crafting stash. And it cordinates with a punch too which makes it much more portable than the sets that need a Big Shot.

I hope you have enjoyed Sharon's card today. To purchase any of the products she has used on it, see the product list below.

Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop - Favourite Technique

Hello and welcome to my blog. It is time for the Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop. This month we are featuring our favourite technique. There are so many great techniques out there, it was so hard to narrow it down to the one I like the most. But narrow it down I did and I decided on the emboss resist technique.

I think this technique is so easy for the great results you get. It is simply heat embossing an image in clear or white on white cardstock, and then sponging over the top in colour to reveal the stamped image. Any one can do it, and the results are amazing. Here is the card I did using this technnique.

I thought the Dandelion Wishes stamp set would be perfect for this technique, and I wasn't wrong. On a piece of Whisper White cardstock I stamped the dandelions and the sentiment in Versamark Ink. Then I heat embossed it using clear embossing powder. Now I had fun sponging the cardstock in Granny Apple Green, Highland Heather and Balmy Blue. Once all the sponging is done, wipe over the embossing to take away the colour and reveal the stamped image.
