ESAD Blog Hop - Designer Series Paper

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I am participating in a blog hop with my fellow Australian and New Zealand demonstrators. We are celebrating all the gorgeous papers that are curently on sale as part of our Buy 3 get the 4th FREE promotion.

So sit back and be prepared to be amazed. There are some seriously talented fellow demonstrators out there.

My project uses my favourite Designer Series Paper, Petal Promenade. This paper is absolutely gorgeous. First up, it's floral, so an instant win for me. Then there are the colours, from subtles to deep rich tones, in pinks and apricots. Add to all that the photo realism paper. It is absolutely stunning. Then there are the floral frames that are so versatile.

I came across this photo when I was cleaning out my parents house. Three of the gorgeous women in this photo are related to me. On the left is my Nana,  my Mum's Mum. She was such a special Nana and I have nothing but fond memories of her. Such an amazingly strong woman. On the far right is my Mum. She was such a beautiful lady inside and out. I miss her too much to write much more. Then to the left of my Mum is her sister, Daphne. My Aunty Daph is still with us and was like a second Mum growing up. I am grateful that I could grow up with these amazing women being the perfect role models to me.

Because these women were so feminine and the quintessential housewives in every aspect, I wanted to make a beautiful page to honour them. I knew of only one paper in our range that could truly do that. That's why I chose this gorgeous paper.

If you love this paper, then you can get it for FREE. Until the end of June, you can buy 3 packs of paper and get the 4th FREE. Here are all the wonderful papers included in this amazing deal.

I teed it up with the coordinating stampset and framelits to make the accents. Products like these make it easy to make beautiful things.

Freshly Brewed Projects - Embossing Mats

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today we have another Freshly Brewed Projects from the Latte Girls. This week we are focusing on the new Embossing Mats.

Have you seen these mats in the catalogue? They are easy to miss. They are on page 221.

Your favorite Framelits, Thinlits, and Edgelits dies can do more when paired with the Embossing Mats. Use with dies that have decorative ejection holes for additional embossing. Or use with cutting dies to emboss instead of cut. Includes Impressions Pad, thin silicone rubber mat, and thick silicone rubber mat.
Size:
* Impressions pad: 8-7/8" x 5-5/7" x 1/8" (22.5 x 14.5 x 0.3 cm)
* Silicone mats: 7-3/8" x 5-3/4" (18.7 x 14.6 cm)

I must admit, I have had these mats for months and about three hours before this blog hop went live,  I opened them. So my project today does not use them in the best way possible, and my embossing is not like I wanted it to be. But I guess this happens when you leave things to the last minute.

To see how great these are and some tips and tricks on using them, watch the video from Stampin' Up! that is below.

Now onto my project. I took inspiration from the card on page 16 of the catalogue.

The leaves die I used was the same one I used for the leaves I die cut  in the card. In hindsight I should of used the other leaf die in the pack. But like I said, I did leave this card to the last minute to make..lol. Here is a close up the embossed leaves in the background.

Travel

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I am taking part in an international blog highlight run by fellow Australian demonstrator, Kylie Bertucci. Each month she invites demonstrators from all over the world to take part in a celebration of everything Stampin' Up!

This month the theme is Travel. Many of my fellow demonstrator friends are off later this month to Greece to cruise around the Greek Isles. This is a wonderful all expenses paid trip paid for by Stampin' Up! as a reward of their hard work. I can't wait to see all the photos and hear their stories. My own team leader, Leonie Schroder is among those going. I know for a fact  that she is very excited. I can't blame her. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity.

So today I have made a card just for her. I hope she is too busy packing to see this card on my blog before she receives it.

The sail boats was as close as I could get to a cruise boat theme. I am sure she won't mind and will be touched by the fact that I made it just for her.

The water was created using the Lilypad Lake stamp set. The sail boats were from the same set, but these were cut out using the matching Lakeside Framelits. The Bon Voyage banner was created using the Pick A Pennant stamp set

I love how this card came together. It is quite simple, but I think it is enough. The colours are very relaxing and I hope they calm Leonie down as I have a feeling she could be a tad nervous.

As I mentioned earlier, this card is part of Kylie Bertucci's International Blog Highlight. So please jump over to the gallery and see what every one else has done. While you are there, you can vote for my creation. I would really appreciate it.
