Stamping Techniques to Try - Decorative Masks

Welcome to the Stamping Techniques to try blog hop. This month it is all about Decorative Masks.

There are so many different ways to use masks. You can use all sorts of mediums with masks from spritzing ink to paste. You can even create your own decorative masks.

Today I used a decorative mask from the Pattern Party Decorative Masks. My medium was sponged ink.

Decorative Masks are so versatile and add an interesting component to your projects - Here I have used the brick mask from the Pattern Party Decorative Masks and paired it the Epic Celebrations stamp set from Sale-A-Bration - Get all your card making supplies here - https://www3.stampinup.com/ecweb/default.aspx?dbwsdemoid=4008228

If you have never used a mask like this before, it is dead easy. Just place the mask on top of your card stock and using a sponge with ink on it, dab gently over the mask. Make sure the mask doesn't move. A great tip is to use a tiny bit of washi tape to hold your card stock in place, and then more on the stencil. Most times my card stock piece is smaller than the stencil, hence why I use washi to hold my card stock in place.

The stamp set I have used on this card is the Epic Celebration set. This is a free set with a qualifying order during Sale-A-Bration. More on that later.
