A country feel

Hello and welcome to my  blog. Today I  have a card to share with you that I created from a customers request. I popped a post up on my facebook page as I was stumped as what to create, and what stamps set to use. One of  the suggestions I received was to create a country themed card.

Well, this was a challenge as I don't own any of the obvious country stamp sets in our catalogue. So I needed to get a bit more creative. And this is what I came up with.

Create projects in any theme with all our wonderful products. See the complete range here - http://bit.ly/shopwitharelle

I started this card with the strips of watercolor paper. They were just sitting on my desk, left over from another project. So I coloured each of them a different colour. I chose colours that represented the country view from looking out towards the outback.

Then I had to sit and think of what stamps would work. Naturally I thought a tree, but we don't have any trees that look like gum trees. The one on the left is from the rooted in nature set  and was as close as I could find to a gum tree.  Then I used the branch stamp from the same set to add what is meant to be gum leaves from a closer tree.

Then I added the grass and loved the whole silhouette look. But then I noticed  the wheat stamp in the Blended Seasons stamp set and just had to add that. The Thinking of You sentiment is very apt as a lot of our farmers are currently experiencing a very bad drought. We as city dwellers are doing all we can at the moment to help them financially.

I hope you have enjoyed my country themed project today. If you would like to purchase any of the products I have used on this project today, please see the product list below.

Thanks for dropping by and have a great day.
Cheers,
Narelle
