Non Traditional Christmas

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a very different card to what I normally do. It's not the style that is different, I have done these type of cards a lot. I love this style. It is the colours.

Make gorgeous Christmas cards with the beautiful Peaceful Noel stamp set - http://bit.ly/PeacefulNoelBundle

You see, this is a Christmas card. Christmas for me is a very red and green affair. So why did I use these colours?

I was sitting at my desk with around an hour and a half till I was scheduled to do a facebook live crafting session. But the problem was, I had no idea what I was going to do. So I put a call out on my facebook page. I got loads of great suggestions and the one I chose to do was a Christmas card in non traditional colours.

Make gorgeous Christmas cards with the beautiful Peaceful Noel stamp set - http://bit.ly/PeacefulNoelBundle

So that's exactly what I did. I chose a few colours - Highland Heather, Mint Macaron and Gray Granite. I chose a stamp set - Peaceful Noel. Then jumped on Live on facebook to make this card.

I love how this card turned out. I hope you do too.

To purchase any of the products I have used on it, please see the product list below.

Thanks for dropping by.
Have a great day.

Ink &Inspiration - Favourite Technique

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today it is time for the Ink & Inspiration blog hop. The topic this hop is Our Favourite Technique. Wow, with so many techniques out there, how do you narrow it down to just one. In the end I settled for Emboss Resist.

So what is Emboss Resist?
Simply put, its colouring over an embossed image.
Now for the finer details. You start with stamping an image in Versamark, which is a clear sticky ink. Then you cover the image with embossing powder, shake off the excess. Use a heat tool and watch the powder magically melt to reveal your image with a lovely raised look now. Then grab a sponge, sponge dauber or even a brayer, and colour your card stock any colour you like. Your stamped image will start to show through like magic. When done colouring, rub your stamped image with a tissue to remove the colour from it and your stamped image will come to life. This works best on white card stock, using either white or clear embossing powder.

Here is my card using this fun technique.

It really looks nice, a bit of a neutral background with  the beige type colour and the Handwritten stamp set. But did you know that you can sponge with more than just our inks. On this card, I have actually used the Vegas Gold Shimmer Paint. When you turn the card to the light, it takes on a whole new look. Just stunning. Good bye beige and hello shimmer.

I hope you have enjoyed my card and that you try this technique soon.

Now it's time to see what everyone has created. I can't wait to see what their favourite techniques are.

Freshly Brewed Projects - Embellishments

Hello and welcome to my blog. It is time for another Freshly Brewed Projects from the Latte Girls. This week it is all about Embellishments.

Embellishments are the unsung heroes of many a project. Very unassuming and not often noticed, but they can make the world of difference. For something so little, they can make a big difference. To show you just how much difference, here is a card I made with just flowers and leaves.

Stunning floral cards are so easy with the First Frost stamp set. Get yours here - http://bit.ly/FirstFrostBundle

A very pretty card, with the lovely Poppy Parade Flowers and Shaded Spruce leaves.

And  it's not just a one dimension card. The flowers are all raised on dimensionals.

But then I added some beautiful metallic pearls. Now the card pops even more. They just add that little something extra.

A very Regal Deer

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today's card is so very regal looking. I think it's from the rich colours and the metallic card used. A very impressive card indeed.

But one I can not take credit for. This one was made by Pam Jorgensen, a very talented demonstrator from Victoria. Another of the lovely Holiday Catalogue swap cards I received.

all the supplies you need to create stunning projects like this one, can be found here - http://bit.ly/shopwithnarelle

I love the deep regal red in this card and the great use of not only the foiled designer series paper, but the silver and gold foil cut die pieces. And look at all those layers.

This card certainly blew me away when I saw it and I feel very lucky to have received one. Imagine how your friends and family would react if you made them one like this.
