Stamping Techniques to Try - Gift Bag

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I am taking part in the Stamping Techniques To Try Blog Hop. The technique this month is simple gift bags or boxes.

This is a perfect theme for this time of the year as we start to think about our Christmas giving. I am sure today the team will inspire you to make some special gift packaging for the people in your life. I have chosen to make a simple bag that is definitely easier to make than it looks. And one you can easily replicate for everyone you want to give a gift to.

I have created this bag using the Gift Bag Punch Board. So it couldn't be easier. No measuring or getting  your Simply Scored out. The punch board takes all that away, and with its onboard instructions you will be making these in bulk  in next to no time. Watch this video below from Stampin' Up! for a great demonstration on how to use the board.

I modified the finished bag a little. Before I assembled it, I trimmed around 2 inches off all sides except the back panel. This then folds down over the top to make the closing. I then used two copper brads and some white bakers twine to hold the bag closed. To see how this flap is made, check out the video from Stampin' Up! below.

I even kept the decoration simple. A sentiment stamped onto a punched shape and some copper and white die cut leaves. I think the paper used is divine, so I didn't want to detract from that too much.
