Florentine Filigree

Hello and welcome. Today's card has been a long time coming. I have had my eye on the Florentine Filigree bundle for a long time. For as long as the Occasions Catalogue has been in publication actually. But I have only recently purchased it. So this idea for this card has been waiting in my head all that time. I am surprised I still managed to remember what I wanted to do.

Make wonderfully detailed cards easy with the Florentine Filigree stamp set and die bundle plus the Stamparatus.
I knew I wanted to make a dramatic card with the bundle. Most of the samples I had seen, including those in the catalogue, are mostly very soft using subtle colours. I wanted to be different and make a bold card. So to achieve that I thought a black frame with some bright colours would be the way to go. I chose Berry Burst and Lemon Lime Twist to be the bright colours. It just so happens that they are both retiring soon. So if you want them, you had better be quick.

It's a shame I didn't get around to making this card during Sale-A-Bration, because the Lovely Lipstick Foil Sheet worked brilliantly with the sentiment. The whole sentiment circle you see above is one complete stamp. But I stamped it in several colours and cut them out using the Layering Circle Framelits. I added a layer of the foil sheet in between and love how it turned out. I also snuck in some Sale-A-Bration ribbon as it was the only Lemon Lime Twist ribbon I had. If you managed to grab these while they were free during Sale-A-Bration, I hope you enjoy using them as much as I did.

If you have this Florentine Filgree Bundle or are considering getting it, I highly recommend using a Stamparatus to stamp the repeating patterns which fill the spaces of the florentine die. If you look closely at mine, they are slightly out of alignment. That's because the card stock moved slightly in the Stamparatus and I didn't notice. Oops. So just make sure you use both magnets, like I should of, and you shouldn't have a problem with them being aligned.

If you haven't yet seen this bundle,  then here it is. You can get each item seperately, but you save 10% by buying them together.
