Off the Rails Scrapbooking - Hippie Chic

Hello and welcome. Today sees the release of a new scrapbooking challenge over at Off The Rails Scrapbooking. The mood board is amazing and inspired my Hippie Chic layout below.

I mentioned the mood board above which the challenge is based around. I love this mood board but when I saw it, I was kicking myself that I didn't purchase certain stamp sets. The dream catcher set we had would have been perfect for this. Here is the mood board, you will understand then.

It is a very boho, hippie type vibe. None of which I seemed to have in my stash. So I had to take a different approach. I instead focused on the colours, the daisies around the Kombi headlights and the love hearts in the guitar image.

I was lucky to have this photo of my daughter when she was much younger. She decided on this day she was going to put on all the costume jewellry she could find in the house, and then wanted makeup on.  Such fun times when they are little and little moments like these that we can look back on and relive again. Today she is a moody teenager who wants nothing to do with anything remotely girly and the only colour she knows is black. How they change.

Here are a few close ups of the different elements on the page.
First up is the heading. I used the retiring Large Letter dies to make this.

All the daises were stamped on Whisper White card stock in either Rich Razzleberry, Berry Burst or So Saffron. I then used a Blending Pen to make them slightly coloured.

I included hearts on the layout by using the Meant To Be stamp set and matching Be Mine dies. Again, I used the blending pen to add colour to the stamped hearts.

As I mentioned earlier, this scrapbook page was done for the challenge over at Off The Rails Scrapbooking. Normally I would direct you to their blog, but they have changed to being facebook based now. Hopefully this will be easier for everyone to play along. So if you want to play along with the challenge this month using the mood board above,  just click on the graphic below and add your image to the group.

To purchase any of the products I have used on my layout today, please see the product list below.

Thanks for dropping by.
Have a great day.
