Scrappy Saturday

Hello and welcome to my first instalment of Scrappy Saturday.

What is Scrappy Saturday? Well as the name suggests, each Saturday I will be bringing you a new scrapbook layout. There are several reasons for this. The first is that I have boxes and boxes of photos I never look at, and thousands of photos on digital devices I never look at. So it is time to start recording the memories before my memory fades.

The other reason is because Stampin' Up! just isn't about card making. You can do so much more with our products. Add in the colour coordination, and recording your memories just got a whole lot easier.
Here is my first Scrappy Saturday layout.

With scrap booking, you can do single pages like this one, or double page layouts. I was planning on doing a double page spread but I have misplaced the other photos taken at the same time. And after spending hours crawling through directory after directory on my external hard drive, I gave up and scrapped the one photo I had.

For this page I used the beautiful Magnolia Lane product suite. I thought the colours in the paper went really well with this photo.

I kept the layout pretty simple with just the one stamped and coloured embellishment at the bottom right. I coloured it with Petal Pink and Mossy Meadow Stampin' Blends.

I love the row of smaller flowers on the left and how effective they look to add interest down the side.

Did you know that these weren't actually stamped and coloured. I discovered that one of the dies from the Magnolia Memory Dies cuts out this flower perfectly from the Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper. Bonus!

And of course the beautiful font of the heading was achieved by using the wonderful Hand-Lettered Prose Dies.

I hope you have enjoyed my first Scrappy Saturday and come back next Saturday to see my next layout.

You can purchase any of the products I use on my projects by visiting my online store or using one of my other ways of ordering.

Thanks for dropping by.
Have a great day.
Cheers,
Narelle
