Hello and welcome. It is time for another Freshly Brewed Projects Blog Hop. Our theme this time around is using your dies as stencils and masks. This is such a fun technique. I will show you my card first and then share a video from someone who demonstrate this technique so much better than I can.
Product List
I started this card by cutting out die cut pieces using the Sunflowers Dies. I layered them together in reverse order, so the detailed one under the solid one, and adhered them temporarily to my card while I lightly sponged the card front using Pear Pizzazz Ink. I then removed the solid die cuts to leave the detailed die cuts in place, and sponged the leaves in Garden Green and the sunflower in Mango Melody. The centre was sponged in Soft Suede. When I had finished I thought the background needed something more. So I stamped it with the Buffalo Check stamp and Pear Pizzazz ink.
I love the effect of all the masking. It is hard to believe it is all done directly on the card front and not a layer in sight.
Now that you have seen my card it is time to see what Leonie has created.
If you get lost along the way, here is the list of everyone participating.
