Pattern Building

Hello and welcome. Today I want to talk about pattern building. Using one or more stamps to create a design. You can use any stamps for this, sometimes it is just a matter of repeating them to create a pattern. For my project today I wanted to recreate a simple quilt type pattern.

The Right Triangle stamp set is perfect for achieving this. And how excited was I when I was playing around and was looking for a way to make something that represented sashing between the blocks, and found out that the Best Plaid Builder Die was perfect for this. If you aren't a quilter you will probably have no idea what I am talking about. A block in quilting is basically a square pattern made up of other shapes. So in my card, one yellow and one blue triangle makes up a block. Sashing is the term used to describe the plain bands in between the blocks.

My stamping in places is a bit wonky, but I guess it is a fair representation of my quilting at times too....lol.

What other stamp sets in the catalogue could you use for pattern building? I bet if you looked you could find heaps. The Right Triangle is an obvious one, but there are others too.

You can purchase all the supplies I used on my card in my online store.
