Masking

Hello and welcome. Today I wanted to show you a card that uses masking. Masking is a technique where you stamp an image, then put a mask over it so you can stamp over part of it again. The effect gives the appearance that the second stamped image is behind the first one you stamped.

Here is a card I made using this technique.

As you can see, it looks like the leaves are coming out from behind the flower. But when you look at the stamp set, you can see that the leaves are full leaves and not half ones like on the card.

I achieved this by masking the flowers after they were stamped. Then stamping the leaves.
Creating a mask is easy. Just stamp onto the front of a post it note and make sure that some of the image is on the sticky end. Then cut it out.

Stamp your image on your project and then place the mask on top of it. Then stamp your second image. Like I did below.

Masking is a fun technique that gives a great effect.

You can purchase all the supplies I have used on this card in my online store.

Thanks for dropping by.
Have a great day.
Cheers,
Narelle
