Altenew for third People's Choice

Hello and welcome. Today I have the third People's Choice project for you. I must say I am loving the interaction so far. Not knowing what your picks are until I go to create it is a lot of fun. If you are not familiar with what this People's Choice is all about, be sure to read more at the bottom of this post.

This People's Choice project comes from Kathy Skinner, and she asked me to make a card using numbers 1, 2 and 5. As it turns out 1 is stamps, 2 is dies and 5 is the Cricut. Which one of these do you think I haven't used in over a decade?

This is what I made.

As is the case now days, I also made a video of me making this card. You can watch it below.

If you are not familiar with what The People's Choice is all about, read on. I decided that I wanted to get my followers involved in what I create. It is really easy for you. There are two ways you can get involved.
Firstly, you can tell me to make a card or a scrapbook page, and then pick three numbers between 1 and 42. I have a list where each number has a product, technique or tool listed against it. So they are the items I must use when I create the project.
Secondly, you can tag me, message me or email me a link or a picture of a project you want me to CASE. CASE means to copy or get inspiration from.

I can't wait to see what you choose for me.

Thanks for dropping by.
Have a great day.
Cheers,
Narelle

Take Two

Hello and welcome. Today I want to share my second take on the second People's Choice challenge. When I did the first one, I missed using the corner rounder. I had it sitting on my desk, but I forgot to use it. So I remade it and made sure that I definitely used the corner rounder. It is a double page layout that you can see below, plus some close up images and the video of me making it.

The Second People's Choice Project

Hello and welcome. I have made my second People's Choice project. The lovely @carooskaartjes asked me to make a scrapbook page using the numbers 7, 28 and 39.  The numbers represented cut aparts, corner rounder and a sketch. Perfect for a scrapbook page. This is the double page layout I made.

I used the gorgeous Vacation collection by Mintay. It is perfect for these beach photos. Here are some close ups.

And here is the video.

I would love to make a project with your choices. There are two ways you can tell me what to make.
You can tag me in a post or send me a picture of something you want me to CASE.
Or you can pick three numbers between 1 and 42, and let me know if you want me to make a card or a scrapbook page.
I can't wait to see what you choose for me to make.

If you are looking to buy the same collection as I used in my layout, then be sure to visit my online shop by clicking on the image below.

Another idea for busy paper

Hello and welcome. Today I wanted to give you another idea for what to do with all that busy scrap book paper you have. You know the ones, the ones that have all over pattern of large images or collages. There are many brands that make this type of paper, like Mintay, P13 and Studio73. I love those brands and what they make, but sometimes I get a bit overwhelmed trying to use some of the papers.

So today I want to let you know, that they make beautiful cards. And so easy as well. Just cut the paper into card front size pieces. Now I don't get specific, and pick which bits I want to use. I just cut it into 3 4" strips, then cut each strip in half so I end up with 6 pieces that measure 4" x 6". Then I trim each one to measure 5.75". This bit I purposely do after I have initially cut them, as I do like to decide which end I will take the quarter inch from. And in the cards I have to share with you today, that came in handy as I was able to cut the shelf off. This will make complete sense when you watch the video below.

So here are the six cards I made with the one piece of busy paper from the Country Fair collection from Mintay.

I kept them simple as each card had a nice scene which would have been somewhat lost if I added too much. All I did was add a sentiment to each. Here is a closer look.

Because I only used a die cut sentiment on each, I cut several of the same and glued them together to give the sentiments more presence and oomph.

Like I mentioned above, I made a video about this as well which you can watch below.

I hope I have inspired you to use all those busy papers in your stash that you don't how to use.

I stock some Mintay products in my online store which you can visit here or by clicking on the image below.

The People's Choice

Hello and welcome. Today I wanted to introduce you to The People's Choice.
I wanted to find a way for you to get involved in what I create. So decided it would be fun to have my followers choose what I create.

There are two ways you can get involved.

You can tag me in a post, send me a link or a photo of a card or scrapbook page you want me to CASE.

OR

You can pick three numbers between 1 and 42 AND tell me to either make a card or do a scrapbook layout. The numbers represent an item on a list I have that contains products, techniques and ideas.

You can comment on this post, or comment on any of my social media posts, or use the comment form on the right hand panel. If you already have my email, you can email me too.

I can't wait to see what you choose for me to make.

I posted about this on my social media channels a few days ago and have had a few people respond. So that was fun. The first person to respond was Beryl, who chose for me to make a card with the numbers 16, 24 and 36. This is what I made.

You can find out what was represented  by the numbers and watch me make the card in the video below.

You can shop for all your card making and scrapbooking supplies in my shop by clicking on the image below.

Lets' CASE a card

Hello and welcome. Today I decided to get back into card making. It's been some time since I made a card. If you are a scrapbooker, don't worry, I won't be stopping that, just mixing up my crafting by adding some cards back in.

One of the quickest ways to get back into something you haven't done in a while, is to copy. In the crafting community we call it CASE'ing. CASE means to copy and selectively edit. You choose a project and use it as inspiration. You can copy it exactly, loosely recreate it, or take elements from it to base your creation around.

For my first card in a while, I decided to case a card I saw on an instagram feed, and this is what I came up with.

I copied the card off instagram and used different colours and products. I loved how it came out. Here is the card that I copied from @TayloredExpressions

I made a video of me CASE'ing this card which you can watch below.

Country Fair by Mintay - Layout 5

Hello and welcome. Today I am back working with the Country Fair Collection by Mintay. I have quite a few pages to go yet with this collection, but I think I will spread the rest out over a few months. I love the collection, but I do get bored with using the same thing all the time.

Here is layout 5.

As I normally do, I also made a video. This video is a little different. It is a process video, so no talking, just music as you watch me put this page together.

See what Mintay collections I have in store by clicking on the image below.

Home Decor

Hello and welcome. Today I wanted to share with you a home decor piece I recently made. It all started with some vintage thread spools I found at an antique store.

My Mum was a sewer. She made all my clothes growing up and made for lots of extended family as well. So when I saw the vintage spools I just knew I wanted to make something in homage to her. Luckily I had some appropriately themed scrapbooking supplies too, and this frame was born.

I made a video making it too.
