Playing with backgrounds

Hello and welcome. Today I wanted to play with creating a background for some embossed images. The idea was to create a multi coloured background using stamps but with it looking like the background had been sponged or was created using alcohol inks. It didn't quite turn out like I saw it in my head, but it still is effective.

So how did I create that green background? I used just the one stamp and used three different shades of green ink. The stamp is actually from the Painted Poppies stamp set. And the greens I used were Garden Green, Shaded Spruce and Granny Apple Green.

I then stamped the flower stems  and single flowers in Versamark and heat embossed in white.

Even though the green background didn't quite work out as I intended it to, it still makes an effective background for the embossing.

Do you play like this, with just an idea in your head? Do your creations often turn out like you envision them? Sometimes we get happy mistakes, others we end up with opportunities to cover and embellish......hehehe

You can purchase all your card making and scrapbooking supplies in my online shop below.

Thanks for dropping by.
Have a great day.
Cheers,
Narelle
